FlyQ InSight is a revolutionary augmented reality aviation app available for iPhone and iPad. It utilizes the camera on your device to overlay live video with markers that indicate the position and distance of nearby airports. This feature ensures that you never have trouble locating airports, even in challenging weather conditions or during nocturnal flights.

InSight offers breathtaking views, and with a simple tap, you can capture images. The Photos tab enables you to view and share your favorite pictures on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

You can filter airports by type and distance range, and the unique 2D view provides a "top down" perspective of nearby airports in relation to your device's orientation.

Additionally, FlyQ InSight comes equipped with various aviation-related features, including aviation weather, airport information, FBO information, fuel prices, and flight planning capabilities. It allows you to plan flights on your iPhone using an auto-router that optimizes the flight path based on wind conditions to ensure the fastest possible arrival time. FlyQ InSight supports Victor Airways, GPS Direct routing, and Jet Airways.

Furthermore, FlyQ InSight seamlessly integrates with other devices such as iPads running FlyQ EFB and PCs or Macs using FlyQ Online. This allows you to share flight plans, pilot profiles, and aircraft profiles.

Airport Information

Upon launching FlyQ InSight, it quickly identifies the nearest airports within about 3 seconds and displays concise weather, fuel, and operational details without the need to tap any buttons. You can also utilize the Search feature to find airports by their identification code or name. Additionally, you can browse airports by state/city without the need for typing. If you require more information about a specific airport, simply tap on it, and all the relevant details, devoid of unnecessary clutter, will be displayed instantly. The first airport page includes operational information, fuel prices, runways, navaids, the FAA airport diagram (if applicable), and an embedded satellite map image of the airport. Need to contact the local ATIS? Simply tap on the phone number displayed, and your iPhone will quickly establish the connection. The weather tab provides you with the current temperature, sky conditions, Nexrad radar images of the area, nearest METARs and TAFs, winds-aloft data, and even official weather briefings from Lockheed Martin or DUATS. With just a tap, you can zoom in on METARs, TAFs, and weather graphics to view them in a large font format that is easily readable even during turbulence. Furthermore, a 7-day forecast is conveniently accessible. Quickly find all the FBO details you require such as fuel information, telephone numbers, rental cars, nearby attractions, and more. The Favorites feature enables quick access to frequently-used airports.

Weather Information

The Weather tab enables you to instantly view your current position using GPS data. FlyQ InSight displays temperature readings, Nexrad images, and local METARs and TAFs accordingly. Additionally, there is an extensive selection of animated weather graphics available for both the United States and Canada. Checking weather conditions around the world is effortless - simply enter an airport identification code, city name or even a zip code. FlyQ InSight conveniently keeps track of your recently searched locations for quick future access and stores graphics and METARs/TAFs on your device so they are accessible even when not connected to the internet (e.g., during flights).

Flight Planning

If you are pressed for time, FlyQ InSight can generate the perfect flight plan for you in just 30 seconds. Simply indicate your departure and arrival airports, and specify the preferred routing (Victor airways, Jet Airways, or GPS Direct). FlyQ InSight automatically plots the entire course, accounting for navaids and intersections - it does not simply provide a straight, simplistic line. The app even utilizes the winds-aloft forecast to determine the optimal altitude for each leg of your journey. To further streamline the process, FlyQ InSight automatically requests an official weather briefing from Lockheed Martin or DUATS. Filing the flight plan is as simple as tapping once and waiting approximately 3 seconds. FlyQ InSight remembers your recent flights and home airport, enabling you to select from a list of recently used airports instead of typing them in.
